As I see it

Nubbin took the camera and started taking random pictures. He got into the camera menu and changed a bunch of settings which took me a while to fix. Hence, this odd picture of a paci.

Imprisoned. help me escape! but first, wake me up with your flash.

Blair Witch Nubbin

When can I get my first tattoo, dad?

Sometimes, my Daddy looks just like me :)

Happy Birthday, Husband!

I let the kids decorate Daddy's birthday cake... it was supposed to be a layer cake, but they didn't want to share the decorating duties.

Sissy would be SO proud of me. This is something she would do with the Getz kids. I'm really trying to live in other people's worlds for awhile. We had a great time! Although, I had to try really hard NOT to wipe the icing off the edge of the plate.

Nubbin iced his cake and decorated it with pictures of Daddy, Mommy and himself. Apparently there wasn't enough room to put in Fafa's picture.

Fafa was just interested in the sprinkles and dipping his finger in the middle of the cake.

Tell it like it is...

Husband and I have implemented a new bedtime routine that involves setting a timer. In the space of time before the timer goes off, the kids have to brush teeth, get PJ's on and read stories.

The stories are always the last part of the routine and once the timer goes off. poof. that's it. The story time ends, regardless of whether we're in the middle of a book.

One of my pet peeves throughout the day is getting Nubbin to complete a task in a timely fashion. Yes, he's the kid that will get halfway out of the car and just stand there to stare at some car passing by. My reaction, while not great, definitely still gets his attention...'We're WASTING time. Let's go!' I'll say.

Well, tonight Nubbin was taking his time. Fafa, who is well aware of the new routine, looks at Nubbin and very firmly yells, 'we wasting TIME!!' While the inflection was on the wrong word, the little one gets it.

Memorial Day 2009

at the Columbia Zoo with Grandma and Aunt Al... Nubbin liked the elephants the best

Fafa and Grandma... a perfect pair!

the cutest picture of the weekend :)

Nubbin wearing his new socks from Grandma and getting some reading in with Aunt Al

The award for the best birthday cake goes to Grandma... this 'cup cake' was AWESOME!

Wow, this has been forever in the making, but we went to see Grandma in SC for memorial day... I love going there because Grandma takes such good care of us and this time we had the great fortune of seeing Auntie Al, Great grandma and Great grandpa Dudziak too. Grandma took us to the Zoo. It's one of my favorites now and we saw all sorts of great animals. Auntie Al even got food for us to feed the giraffes... yay! a great weekend. thanks Grandma!

It's just temporary

So, I've abandoned this blog for my facebook account. I never thought it would happen. I feel like I'm seeing another hairdresser who works at the same place my old hairdresser works... you know how that is. I have tons of pics and things that I just haven't edited, so those will be coming.

Anyway, thought I'd post some of my status updates from Facebook... don't worry, like the title says, it's only temporary :)

June 4th - after a really long day:
Kira Lore Wolfe
is engaged in a useless task. The kids got hold of one of my Post-it pads. I'm now trying to put it back together... sticky side to unsticky side. repeat.

June 7th - after a really long drinking night with the neighbors
Kira Lore Wolfe
really wishes E was potty trained right now. Poop + headache = one really long diaper change

June 11 - after a really long time without AC upstairs
Kira Lore Wolfe
quit complaining about waiting for the 5th new A/C unit estimate when her husband said, 'Well, the next A/C guy might be the one. What would have happened if I quit looking for a new girlfriend back in the day? I might never have found you.'

June 12 - after a really long argument with Nubbin
Kira Lore Wolfe
once again got smacked by 'man-logic' when her son got defensive after she reprimanded him for saying BS (in the correct connotation, mind you). 'Mommy, they're just letters in the alphabet.' at least the girl hamster doesn't argue.

June 14 - after a really long time with the Husband... just kidding :)
Kira Lore Wolfe
isn't sure whether or not to be offended when Jon said, 'There must be a crazy uncle on your side of the family..' as our 2nd son is waving an inflatable bat around and yelling nonsensical things whilst dancing in Spiderman slippers.

What's the blooming idea

This is the party favor I made for a friend's baby shower. The flowers are impatiens and I was up until 2:30 a.m. potting these suckers in these tiny little pots I found at the craft store. Turned out pretty well, I think...
