Welcome to the Wolfe den. This is a place where friends and family can get updates about our 2 cubs and a view of what it's like to be leader of the pack.

Buzzzz.... cut
End of an era
We've decided to drop Nubbin's nap. For those of you who know me well... which is pretty much anyone who reads this blog, you all know how important nap time has been for me. My 'sanctuary' time is a thing of the past... mourn for me. okay, all better now.
I'm looking forward to not getting into screaming matches with Nubbin at 10 p.m. because he won't stay in bed.

My lovely
Trick or treat
I've been fueling my Halloween craze by watching the Getz Gang get all excited about their costumes... CharlieGraham are going to be Transformers... pretty cool costumes, by the way.
So, I've been nudging Nubbin to tell me what he wants to be for Halloween. First, he decided he wanted to be a butterfly and Fafa should be a caterpillar. I asked him again tonight and he said he wanted to be a duck... not a robot, not a pirate, not a character from Star Wars, not a soldier with a 'shooter', but a duck. I think he's trying to tell me he's a lover, not a hater.

Do you need a tissue?
Husband taught Fafa to fake a sneeze. Now, Fafa goes around saying, 'AH, AH, AH, AH.... CHOOoooo' as loud as he can.
Lying down on the job
'Pho' - tastic
It was great, except he added way too many noodles... and by way too many, I mean they just soaked up all the broth and we ended up with noodles with a few slices of beef, bean sprouts and cilantro. He also added dumplings instead of the traditional meatballs.
So, the kids ate some of the noodles, bean sprouts and lime, but mostly threw the noodles around on the table... Husband commented that next time he won't add the noodles to the soup, just to the bottom of the each person's bowl. Now, that's using your noodle :)

Move over Rubenstein

You're a winner!
Fafa has taken leaps and bounds in his words... even saying things like, 'Where', 'Why' and 'apple juice'... sometimes it takes a second to translate, but my boy is talking!
I took Fafa to the park yesterday while Nubbin was in preschool. When he went down the enclosed slide, he was so proud of himself. The first time he popped out, he threw both of his hands in the air and yelled, 'Ta Da!'. The next time he came out, he started jumping around yelling, 'I did it! I did it, mommy!' I guess I don't have to worry about Fafa's language skills or his self esteem...

3 is the new 2
I had my first heartbreak moment yesterday. Nubbin told me that he didn't love me. All because we wouldn't let him watch 'Cars' during dinner. After he had calmed down, he told Husband, 'I love mommy...' long pause, 'now.'
Crazy like a hurricane
Hurricane Hanna hit yesterday and we thought of everything to keep the kids entertained. The first photo is actually from the day before, but they were airplanes and then a train... husband made a cave for his bear cubs and then we moved on to Moon Sand... lots of fun, but a huge mess afterward. We thought we were creative, but maybe just crazy.

Chaos controlled
My dear friend from Minnesota came with her little one and husband. We had a great time and I realized how much I missed her. Along with her husband's sister and family and the Getz Gang and my neighbor's family, we were cramped but I hope everyone enjoyed it.
Tag, you're it...
Notice the new shoes... Nubbin picked the color... heehee

In case of emergency
Husband has been talking to Nubbin about what to do if there's ever a fire in our house. After telling Nubbin to get down low and crawl on the ground if there's smoke and make his way to the front door and out to the driveway, Nubbin told Husband that he hopes his 'drapes' catch on fire.
The back story is that Nubbin's arch nemesis at night are the curtains in his room. I changed them to a dark blue to keep out most of the light, but Nubbin doesn't like them because he finds them scary. Have to hand it to him that he's got his priorities straight and wants to get rid of the one thing he doesn't like in his room!
