Add a nut to the easter basket

Nubbin finding eggs on the easter egg hunt - we had to hide them in the chapel because it was raining outside

Nubbin helping Fafa put together his necklace during craft time

Fafa was ready to be one of the big kids and took his place at circle time

the boys made the ties and the girls made the bonnets - and of course, Fafa didn't want to be left out

I hosted Nubbin's preschool party this week with another mom. Because the philosophy of the school is to make kids more independent, parents aren't allowed to go to a school party unless you are hosting it. So, I had signed up at the beginning of the school year to host the Easter party for his class, not realizing it would be Camp Wolfe week... yes, I'm just trying to show that I'm not a nut by choice. We fed them lunch and did a craft and an egg hunt.

The funniest part of the day was watching Fafa. He thought he had made it to the big league because he was allowed inside Nubbin's classroom. He was allowed to participate in all the things that Nubbin gets to do.... play with the toys, go for recess, sit in circle time, play with all of Nubbin's preschool friends. Needless to say, he was in heaven. He's going to love going to preschool next year :)

As big as it ever was...

Fafa has a big head... almost as big as the apple he's eating:)

Camp Wolfe - Day 5

this is making cookies by hand... 'a handful for the cookie, a handful for me'

yes, I left the dough like this and yes, it all ran together... I refer to it as 'freeform' cookies

Chef Graham

Charlie wanted Fafa to have some ice cream... good sharing boys!

It's Wednesday. The day I dreaded. All 3 boys are headed to preschool. Actually, getting them ready wasn't so bad. It was when we got to CharlieGraham's school that I realized we didn't have the 'show and share'. I picked up random toys off the floor of the van and said, 'This is what you're taking to school.' I did get a few protests, but when Charlie saw that his yellow kooshie ball lit up, he was suddenly okay with it.

In the afternoon, we made oatmeal chocolate chip cookies. The dough was so thick that I told the boys to just pick it up with their hands and put it on the cookie sheet. I did have to keep reminding them to make bigger globs. I was told by one that by making smaller globs, we would get more cookies... kind of true, but we'd still have the same amount of dough, so technically, we'd end up with the same amount of cookies. Try explaining that to a 3 year old. After cookies, we headed outside again.

Sprayers all around... I hate water and 3 year olds, but they had a blast. The best 2 bucks/item I spent was on those sprayers. By the end, they were soaked and one sprayer was broken. Oh well, it was fun while it lasted. Inside for chicken nuggets and a bath. They watched an episode about the origin of monster trucks. I think that must have dulled them into a sleep state. Thank goodness Wednesday's over. Next!

I call it like I see it

As we were pulling out of the parking lot, Charlie saw a rather obese man crossing the street. I have a hard time translating his exact words, but here goes:

C: 'Kiwa, did you see that man right there?'
Me: 'Yes, Charlie. I saw him'
C: 'He's a large man. He look like he's pregnant.'
Me: 'Yes. Very good observation Charlie.'

What do you say when the kid is right? The poor guy did look pregnant.

Camp Wolfe - Day 4

left to right: Fafa, Charlie, Nubbin, Graham

Lil sis came over to paint pots too

Everyone's having fun outside. Even the neighbor's kids came to play (am I crazy or what?)

playtime at Camp Wolfe

Today, it was Nubbin's turn to go to preschool. CharlieGraham really liked taking Nubbin to school. I had every intention of going to Target with the remaining 3 because we needed a new toothbrush for Fafa and stuff for Nubbin's preschool party. But I chickened out midway and we came home to spend the morning at home. It was nice to have the 3 boys to myself and they entertained themselves for the most part... I even got a shower. It's funny when you start being thankful for the things you should be doing anyway. After dinosaur nuggets, it was off to get Nubbin.

In the morning, Nubbin had asked for some time alone, so I took CharlieGraham to Right Time Kids. They seem to like it there and Nubbin and Fafa took a nap at home.

In the afternoon, we painted pots and made button flowers to stick in them. I forgot to get fake leaves and stuff to cover the green thing that holds the flowers, so I made the kids pick leaves off the bushes and stuck those in the pot. All in all, I think this may be my defining moment of the week, but boy, when you get tired and dump an entire bag of buttons on the driveway, it can feel like a disaster. Granny Jo and Lil Sis came to play too and the boys were excited to see her.

Dinner consisted of Kielbasa, biscuits, frozen yogurt and fruit. Yes! Finally got it right. CharlieGraham asked for seconds of all the above. When we eat together, we always ask each kid to describe the favorite part of their day. Fafa said, 'Nothing' Charlie said, 'Taking Z to preschool' Graham said, 'Painting pots outside' and Nubbin said, 'Playing outside'

Kids got a bath and then we gave them Glow sticks. We turned out all the lights (quite hazardous for husband and I) and let the kids run around. It looked like a rave, but the kids had fun. They wanted to read in the dark, so Husband read to them. But everyone complained they couldn't see and we had to repeatedly tell them that it was because the room was too dark and maybe we should turn on lights.... of course, that would ruin the ambiance, so no lights allowed. Another day down, 4 more to go!

The kissing Queen

I decree that today is a kissing day... smaller 1/2 CharlieGraham and I just had a great bonding moment. I kissed him on the cheek and he wiped it off.

No one wipes off my kisses and so the kissing Queen emerged. We giggled and gave each other cheek kisses and zerberts till we almost fell off the couch. He can't escape me :)

Memory maker

Nubbin just asked for a toy that I threw out 3 weeks ago. It was one of those free toys you get in the McDonald's kids meals, except this one was from Chik-Fil-A. I really thought he'd never miss it since he hadn't played with it for a couple of months (try 2 or 3). How do they remember this stuff?
